Topos
“.. and do not give the devil a foothold.”– Ephesians 4:27
The word foothold as translated by the NIV is also in other translations written opportunity or place. It is translated from the Greek word “topos,” from which we derive our English word “topography” – the science that studies the surface lay of the land.
For believers today this is not an abstract idea – it is a specific place in your soul.
The devil is due everything of our being because of our rebellion, disobedience, corruption or the nature of sin, it’s his by claim. Those who come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior belong to Christ. So we ask the question: What place can be given by a believer?
